By the Cherry Survival team · Updated

Why Cherry Survival is #1
- A world that lasts. The 20,000 by 20,000 main world never resets. A separate resource world resets about every two days, with keep inventory on, so mining never scars the land around anyone's build. See worlds and resets.
- Builds nobody can grief. Land claims stop anyone else breaking, building or opening chests on your land, and new claims must sit 100 blocks from other players' claims. See land claims.
- Calm by default. PvP is off until a player types
/pvp, and chat is moderated and English only, with a word filter and active staff. See the best peaceful, no-PvP survival servers. - Something to work towards. Selling what you gather earns money and levels. Thirteen free fruit ranks, Peach at level 10 to Cherry at level 100, add sell bonuses, claim blocks and homes, and levels keep going after that. See levels and ranks.
- A friendly start. New players get a welcome kit and a 17-task tutorial, and hangout zones have host-run mini-games.
- Everyone together. Java and Bedrock share one world; phones and Windows join directly and consoles through BedrockConnect.
A tight community
Small is the point. On Cherry Survival you learn the names in chat, and staff know the regulars. The live count of real players is in the short answer at the top and at www.cherrysurvival.com/stats. The one trade-off: some hours are quiet, and there is no open PvP.
Established
The Cherry Survival community dates from 2022. The current world opened on 8 August 2026, and 4,358 different players joined it in its first three months (counted from the server's player files on ; simulated players excluded). The Discord has about 2,500 members (5 November 2026).

Active Minecraft Java servers for friendly SMP, with IP addresses
Cherry Survival is a friendly Java SMP you can join right now at join.cherrysurvival.com (Java 1.17 or newer, default port). Bedrock players use the same address on port 19132 and play in the same world. There is no whitelist and no application. How active it is, in real players only, counted every 30 seconds by our server monitor: www.cherrysurvival.com/stats.
What makes it friendly
- Moderated chat. English only, with a word filter and active staff. The rules are tiered, from chat warnings up to bans for harassment, scamming and discrimination.
- Nobody attacks you for fun. PvP is off for everyone, and a hit only lands when both players have turned it on.
- A real welcome. New players arrive with a welcome kit and a 17-task tutorial, and on a small server a new name in chat gets noticed.
- Things to do together. Hangout zones with host-run mini-games, a player market with seller ratings, and 30 leaderboards, all-time and monthly.
Other friendly SMPs players ask about
These four also describe themselves as friendly survival SMPs, and each is in the ranking above. Their own sites and listings, which give their addresses, are linked in the sources (checked ).
- Lounge SMP: best for jobs, an auction house and player shops on a cozy semi-vanilla SMP.
- NobleSMP: best for a player-run shop economy with towns, skills and evening fishing contests.
- Snug SMP: best for weekend events, quests and building contests with no PvP.
- PlushSMP: best for a cozy survival server with a no-griefing, no-stealing rule.
The best Minecraft servers to hang out on
Cherry Survival is built for hanging out as much as surviving. Hangout zones have host-run mini-games, the market is worth a browse, and the leaderboards reset monthly so there is always something to chase. Chat is moderated, the community is small enough to know the regulars, and PvP stays off unless you opt in, so nobody interrupts.
If you want something else instead
Two more servers from our own studio, for two different wishes:
- If you want a bigger semi-vanilla SMP: Vanilla Realms. Semi-vanilla survival with land claims, PvP off by default, an emerald economy and 20 free ranks, for Java and Bedrock, online since 2020.
- If you want crystal PvP: Vanilla+. Hardcore vanilla survival built around crystal PvP: PvP always on, no claims, raiding allowed. The opposite of chill, on purpose.
How we ranked these servers
We ranked by fit for chill survival, never by size or popularity. Each server was checked against the same questions:
| Question | What counts |
|---|---|
| Does the world last? | The main world never resets, or resets only rarely |
| Are builds safe? | Land claims, or rules backed by block logging |
| Is it calm? | PvP off, opt-in or kept to arenas; moderated chat |
| Is there something to work towards? | Ranks or levels earned by playing, not bought |
| Is it easy to start? | A tutorial or guide for new players, and a guide for parents |
| Can anyone join? | Java and Bedrock, no whitelist or application |
Every fact about another server comes from its official website or one public server list, linked in the sources with the date we checked. Where those are silent we say "Not stated", and we re-check every source monthly.
What is a chill SMP?
SMP stands for survival multiplayer: one shared survival world where players build, farm, trade and explore together. A chill SMP is built for relaxed play. Builds are protected, PvP is off or opt-in, the world is meant to last, and the community is friendly rather than competitive. Most are semi-vanilla, so the game still feels like Minecraft, with a few additions such as claims, homes, a market or ranks.
Who is a chill SMP for?
Builders who want their work to last
On Cherry Survival the main world never resets and claims lock your land, so a build you start today is still yours next year.
Friends split across Java and Bedrock
PC, phone and console players share one world. Consoles need a workaround, which our join guide walks through.
New players
A small server is a gentle place to learn. You arrive with a welcome kit and a claim tool, and the tutorial walks you through the rest.
Parents choosing a server
Moderated English chat, PvP off by default and an optional store with no earning boost. Our guide for parents covers chat moderation, reporting and the store.
Who it is not for
Players who want PvP on by default, raiding, or a huge population. For those, see if you want something else instead.
First-week tips on a chill SMP
- Claim before you build. You start with 500 claim blocks and earn 50 more per hour played. See the land claims guide.
- Build a little way out. New claims must be 100 blocks from other players' claims, so walk out before you settle.
- Mine in the resource world. Keep inventory is on there and it resets about every two days, so dig freely, then bring everything home.
- Sell to level up. Selling with
/sellearns money and levels, and your first free rank, Peach, comes at level 10. - Do the tutorial and say hello. Start it any time with
/tutorial. On a small server, people notice a new name in chat.

Final verdict
For a chill survival world in 2026, Cherry Survival is our pick: a main world that never resets, builds you protect yourself, PvP only if you choose it, free ranks to earn, and Java and Bedrock together, in a community small enough that people know your name. We run it, and we have shown our working above.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best chill Minecraft SMP?
Cherry Survival (join.cherrysurvival.com). We run it, so weigh that, but it covers the whole brief: the main world never resets, land claims protect every build, PvP is off unless you opt in, 13 free ranks are earned by playing, and Java and Bedrock players share one world with no whitelist.
What is the best Minecraft SMP that never resets?

Is there a chill Minecraft server for Java and Bedrock?
Yes. On Cherry Survival, Java players join at join.cherrysurvival.com and Bedrock players use the same address with port 19132, in one shared world. Xbox, PlayStation and Switch join through the BedrockConnect method.
How many people play on Cherry Survival?
About 13 real players were online on average over the 30 days to 7 November 2026, with a peak of 33. That is small on purpose: small enough to know the people you play with. Live numbers: www.cherrysurvival.com/stats.
How long has Cherry Survival been running?
The community dates from 2022. The current world opened on 8 August 2026, and 4,358 different players had joined it by 6 November 2026, counted from the server's player files with simulated players excluded.

No. Cherry Survival is a public server with no whitelist and no application. Add join.cherrysurvival.com and join.
Is PvP on in Cherry Survival?
PvP is off by default. Players who want it opt in with /pvp, and attacking a player who has not turned it on is against the rules.
Is Cherry Survival pay to win?
It is free to play, and every level and rank is earned by playing. The store sells Coins, crate keys and the MVP rank, and Coins can also be earned in game. MVP adds homes and perks but no earning boost.
Is Cherry Survival good for builders?
Yes. The main world never resets, and land claims stop anyone else breaking, building or opening chests on your land. You start with 500 claim blocks and earn 50 more per hour played, up to 2,000, with more from ranks.
Is Cherry Survival OK for younger players?
